Outdoor Fossil Excavation Experience

Using hammers and chisels, we will excavate bivalves, gastropods, fish bones, and more from the approximately 10-million-year-old 塩坪層.
Except for particularly valuable items, you may take home the fossils you excavate.
Maybe you'll find whale or sea cow bones, or shark teeth?
Applications close one week before each session, but will end earlier once capacity is reached.

On the day of the event, after registration begins at 8:45 a.m., we'll hold the opening ceremony and travel by bus to the 塩坪層 (depending on the number of participants, travel may be by private car).
In the morning, you'll experience excavations at the 塩坪層 located about a 10-minute walk away; at noon we return to カイギュウランド for lunch, and in the afternoon we'll clean the fossils found in the morning at カイギュウランド.
