Insects We Can’t Ignore — People and Insects in Everyday Life
You can’t talk about human life without insects?!
How many insects are around you?
Insects have been deeply intertwined with our lives historically and culturally. Through a variety of materials, this exhibition introduces cultures in which people have used insects, such as sericulture and beekeeping; rituals and beliefs to keep insects away, such as insect-sending and insect-cutting; and changes in people’s awareness of pests.
We look back at ways of living with insects in daily life and explore what people have perceived through insects.
